Frenzied Cult Confronts CONCORD Search Squad

Last month, a small planetary squad of CONCORD officers searching for an alleged witch doctor known as Saint in central New Eden after allegations of Satanism and capsule sacrifice were confronted by around 20 "possessed" followers wielding machetes and hand blasters. Believing themselves impervious to the CONCORD bullets and stun guns that were about to come their way, they ignored warning shots and made their escape in fast and heavily modified planetary vehicles.

CONCORD were said to be in the area amid reports of the kidnapping of a local intelligence officer not aligned with CONCORD, but thought to be a highly influential figure within the extended security arm of New Eden. The local intelligence officer is now considered missing presumed dead.

The CONCORD chief leading the investigation, said that Saint and his followers appeared to be possessed by a spirit when they were confronted by the enforcement officers. Dancing and circling, Saint pulled out a machete and sidearm and began frantically waving the weapons in a hazardous fashion before the daring escape.

Officers are now searching the isolated and mountainous regions of Molden Heath for the alleged cult and its followers. Similar sightings of alleged cults have been noted in the area over recent times. It is not known if these cults are connected.

Saint appears to have merged local tribal beliefs with ancient superstitions and witchcraft, concocting his own super religion. Some do not believe however that Saint is the master string puller of this latest sect to rumble through New Eden, instead, believing that Saint is merely a puppet and a face for a far more sinister organisation that is growing in numbers. Further, on Thursday last week, locals became upset when he banned residents of a planetary outpost in the Great Wildlands region from attending a Brutor festival that was being 'policed' by enforcement officers. Members of Saint's group, who do not fly under a corporation banner but come together under one goal are believed to wear white headbands underneath black cloaks.

Locals are being urged to remain on high alert as the search for the missing intelligence officer continues.
